The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has married Queen Zaynab Ngohemba, a former wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.
The marriage became public on Friday, December 26, 2025, following a celebratory Facebook post by Abraham Double-D Dajoh, a member of the Akume Dajoh family from Mbakor, Benue State.
Confirming the union, the Dajoh family described the marriage as “beautiful” and “uncommon,” formally welcoming Queen Zaynab into their fold.
In a statement shared online, the family said: “We, the entire Dajoh family, happily join our daddy, uncle and brother, His Excellency, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume Jugu Dajoh, in welcoming his new and uncommon wife, Queen Zaynab Ngohemba-George Akume Dajoh, into the Dajoh family.”
The statement further extended a warm cultural welcome to the bride, hailing her arrival in Benue State, famously known as the “Food Basket of the Nation,” and Mbakor, regarded as the seat of Tiv leadership.
The family expressed gratitude to Akume’s supporters for their goodwill and prayers, urging continued loyalty and support. They also used the occasion to wish Nigerians a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Queen Zaynab Ngohemba was previously married to the Ooni of Ife before the union ended. Her marriage to Senator Akume marks a new chapter in the personal life of the high-ranking federal official.
